Team of the Week - 21.11.25

The very best in the world, and those breaking new ground to get there, headline this week’s Team of the Week.

Luke Littler continues his rapid rise as the youngest world number one in darts, while Roger Federer adds another milestone with his induction into the International Tennis Hall of Fame. On the world stage, Curacao have stunned everyone by qualifying for the 2026 World Cup against all odds.

Closer to home, the London Mavericks are driving real change in netball with a bold commitment to inclusivity for all players.

Roger Federer

Further cemented into the history books

He’s already the GOAT (surely?), so can he really receive any more recognition or accolades? Of course he can, he’s Roger Federer. The Swiss great will become the first member of tennis’ 'Big Three' to be inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame. In case you didn’t remember, he was the first man to win 20 Grand Slam singles titles and 103 ATP-level titles.

Luke Littler

Best darts player in the world

Do I even need to explain this one? The Nuke has officially become the youngest ever world number one in darts at just 18 years old. His rise to the top is nothing simply ridiculous. A legend of the sport already, who knows how many more records he'll break in the years to come.

Curacao

World Cup qualifiers

With a population of just over 150,000 and a land area smaller than the Isle of Man, Curaçao have defied all odds by qualifying for the 2026 Men’s World Cup after a draw against Jamaica. Their unbeaten qualification run included seven wins, featuring a 7–0 victory over Bermuda and a 5–1 win against Haiti, who themselves have qualified for their first World Cup in 52 years.

London Mavericks

Giving netball a new, inclusive look

London’s Netball Super League club, the London Mavericks, is leading the charge for inclusive sportswear, coming away from the traditional figure-hugging short design and providing flexibility and choice to players. While dresses are still an option, so too now are shorts, skorts, leggings and longer vests, with players having the option to pick for matches for the first time.
