Early medals for GB at the World Champs

Day two of the World Track Cycling Championships saw a great start for Great Britain, securing gold in the women's team pursuit final and the men's scratch race. Huge congratulations to Erin Boothman, Anna Morris, Josie Knight and Millie Couzens who overturned an early deficit to win the team pursuit final, before Matthew Bostock held on to the lead to win his first world title. The British men’s team pursuit line-up also took bronze on day two.

Diego Poncelet

World record holder

The Spaniard set a new skateboarding speed world record of 151.83 km/h (while standing) in Charlevoix, Quebec. He described the feeling as a high-consequence meditation. The previous record had stood since 2017 before Poncelet completed this run that earned him a Guinness World Record.

Sonay Kartal

British tennis player

What a comeback for Sonny Kartal. After six months out with injury, Sonay Kartal has powered into the Wuhan Open quarter-finals with a stunning win over former Wimbledon finalist Jasmine Paolini. She has enjoyed five wins from seven matches since her return, having swept aside Jasmine Paolini 6-2, 6-0.
