Team of the Week - 06.02.26

First timers and all timers make up this Team of the Week.

Aden Durde made history as the first UK born coach on a Super Bowl sideline, Carlos Alcaraz completed his career Grand Slam at just 22, Brighton & Hove launched a bold campaign to become the UK capital for women and girls in sport, and Justin Rose claimed a stunning win at the Farmers Insurance Open.

Aden Durde

British defensive mastermind in the NFL

Aden Durde has made history as the first UK born coach to appear on a Super Bowl sideline, serving as defensive coordinator for the Seattle Seahawks at Super Bowl LX. The Londoner has played a key role in transforming Seattle into one of the NFL’s strongest defences, having previously coached with the Falcons and Cowboys and helped establish the NFL’s International Player Pathway programme.

Carlos Alcaraz

Tennis Star

The Spaniard made history with his Australian Open win that saw him become the youngest man to complete the career Grand Slam. An incredible achievement at 22-years-old who continues to woo the tennis world not just with his records and majors but with the immense joy he brings to the court in every game.

Justin Rose

Farmers Insurance Open champion

Justin Rose dominated the field to claim his second Farmers Insurance Open, shooting a course record 23 under par. It was his first win since the FedEx Championship, sealing his 13th PGA Tour title with a two-under final round. A reassuring victory for Rose, who turned down lucrative LIV Golf offers to remain on the PGA Tour.

Brighton & Hove

Future UK capital of women and girls’ sport

Brighton & Hove has launched an ambitious year long campaign to become the UK capital of women and girls’ sport in 2026. Building on its track record of hosting major women’s sporting events, the city aims to boost participation, visibility and opportunity for girls and women at every level. The initiative brings together schools, clubs, communities and elite sport to create lasting change and inspire the next generation to get active.
