Team of the Week - 03.10.25

This Team of the Week shows what a great week its’ been for British sport.

Paralympians have taken this week by storm with some incredible success stories.
Crystal Palace Football Club are on their best run in their 120-year history, and of course, we couldn’t miss the England Rugby women lifting the World Cup trophy!

Who would be in your Team of the Week?

British Paralympic sport

Global success for Britain’s paralympic athletes

It’s been a huge couple of weeks for disability sport, and I couldn’t pick just one moment, so thought I would highlight Britain’s multi-sport success. GB’s rowing dominance continued in the PR3 mixed coxed four by claiming their 14th consecutive international gold medal at the World Rowing Championships, while the men's and women's eights also made it on to the podium. In the pool, GB’s swimmers claimed 40 medals at the World Para Swimming Championships in Singapore, while Britain currently holds 15 medals at the World Para Athletics Championships in New Delhi.

Nathan Maguire

British Paralympic Athlete

Maguire fulfilled a life long dream by winning his first T54 1500m medal at the World Para Athletics Championships. The 28-year-old secured a bronze in dramatic fashion, overtaking Switzerland's Marcel Hug on the final bend of the track. It's his first 1500m medal at a Worlds event and adds to his 800m bronze he won last year.

England Women’s Rugby

World Cup Winners

It would be a travesty not to include this group in our Team of the Week. The Red Roses have swept the nation with their incredible rugby skills and personality. If you haven’t seen some of the content from the women off the back of their 33–13 win over Canada to secure the World Cup, check it out, it’s a goldmine. Long may this success continue and long may it continue to inspire females to participate in sport!

Crystal Palace

19 game unbeaten streak

Who would have thought a year ago we would be writing that Crystal Palace were on the longest stretch of games without defeat in their 120-year history. A remarkable 19 games following their European success this week. Fair play to the Eagles … who needs Eze anyway!
