29-year-old British sailor has become the first British woman to be selected for an America’s Cup team in 90 years. In what is described as a “pivotal moment” in the sport, she has been named in the GB1 team for next year’s event. Phyllis Sopwith was the last British woman to race aboard a British America's Cup challenger, last appearing in 1937.

Buttler put up an impressive 51 rom just 20 balls in the Men's Hundred this week securing a win for the Manchester Super Giants. That takes him to 14,833 runs in T20 cricket and sees him surpass Kieron Pollard's previous record, becoming the format's highest scorer of all time. Naturally, the shot that took the 35-year-old over the line was a six that landed on the hotel balcony at Old Trafford.

Commonwealth Games table toppers
Team Australia topped the Commonwealth Games medal table for the 15th time, doing so in emphatic style with 171 medals. The Aussies secured 70 gold, 45 silver and 56 bronze medals, with swimming contributing the largest share of their haul. Being at the Commonwealth Games, I had the pleasure of watching Jye Dixon and Emma-Sue Greentree win gold in the boxing, and the Australian support throughout the competition was brilliant.

NBA star
London-born NBA star OG Anunoby is offering a basketball court in London a boost, in a bid to help more young people enjoy the sport. The Camden-born basketball player for the New York Knicks is supporting the transformation of Argyle Square Court as part of a major renovation project.
