Angharad Evans claimed her first European Aquatics gold and set a new British record, Brian Madjo announced himself with a goal against PSG at just 17, Matthew Vigurs pulled off an extraordinary hole in one as an amateur, and Kayla McBride made WNBA history with 10 three pointers in a single game.

European Aquatics Championships gold medallist
23 year old Evans secured her first gold medal at the European Aquatics Championships in the 100m backstroke, while also setting a new personal and British record. Great Britain are currently topping the medal table at the Championships with 18 medals, including 10 golds. The haul also features medals for 18 year old Filip Nowacki and 16 year old Amalie Smith. The future looks bright for Great Britain.

Kayla 'McBuckets' made WNBA history this week, making a record-high 10 three pointers in a single game against the Dallas Wings, while dropping a career-high 43 for the Minnesota Lynx. McBride isn't even the first option for the Lynx but is currently making a strong case to be an all-star, maintaining an incredible 50.4% from beyond the arc since July 1st.

Doing it for the amateurs
Matthew Vigurs isn’t a name that many, if any, people will have heard of. That’s because the Worcestershire golfer is just a club player at Droitwich Golf Club. However, the +1 handicapper recently made the news for sinking a hole in one on a 411 yard hole, something some estimates suggest has a one in six million chance of happening. For anyone wondering, 411 yards is the same length as more than 12 London buses, three football pitches or around 50 Ford Fiestas. An insane feat and a lifelong memory made.

Despite being just 17 years old, Madjo scored in his first competitive game for Aston Villa against none other than back to back Champions League winners Paris Saint Germain. To make this even more remarkable, FIFA rules meant Madjo technically could not play competitive games until he turned 18. However, a new ruling allowed him to be unleashed against the French superpower, and he showed why he could be the future of English football.
