Signing the GOAT

A brilliant headline on the BBC Sport website reads "From Barcelona to Bromley”, and who would have thought that Alexia Putellas would have moved to London City Lionesses. One of the greatest female players of all-time has joined one of the most ambitious clubs in the country. Putellas, known in Spain as 'La Reina' - the Queen has won it all; completing all titles at club level and is even a world champion with Spain, and she even boasts a bigger Instagram following than the club. What an impressive move for LCL, and the game over here.

Raptors legend

The 40-year-old announced his retirement from professional basketball, but did so in style, returning to his beloved Toronto for one day so that he could retire a Raptor. The veteran won the 2019 NBA Championship and spent nine years with the franchise. He and his wife have also joined the ownership group of WNBA side Toronto Tempo.

Dame Sarah Storey

GB’s most decorated Paralympian

There are few people that can boast as many medals as Dame Sarah Storey. As Great Britain’s most-decorated Paralympian with 19 Paralympic titles, the 48-year-old has called time on her competing career. Storey, who won four gold medals at London 2012, as committed her future to helping to improve Para-sport instead of aiming to compete at LA28.
