Vitality Blast finalists….again

Hampshire have secured their place in another Vitality Blast Finals Day, after thumping Essex in the quarter-final at Utilita Bowl. James Vince enjoyed his sixth T20 hundred, whilst also securing the highest-ever Vitality Blast knockout score to send Hampshire Hawks to a record 12th Finals Day. Young Hampshire and England bowler Sonny Baker enjoyed a career best five wickets, as the Hawks set up a semi-final against Notts on Saturday’s Finals Day at Edgbaston, with Hampshire hunting for a record fourth Blast title.

Haeran Ryu

South Korea’s Haeran Ryu delivered one of the standout performances of the season, storming to victory at the Evian Championship, securing her second major in as many weeks. Ryu shot an 11-under-60 on Saturday, but a poor Sunday let Canada's Brooke Henderson back into the race, but Ryu held on to win the sudden-death play-off.

In case you missed it, the 2026 Tour de France is happening, and the records keep tumbling. Following the achievements of Tadej Pogacar, obliterating the record for the fastest climb of the Col du Tourmalet, Norwegian Søren Wærenskjold won the fastest-ever road stage. Wærenskjold took the 11th stage, in one of the hottest editions ever, as part a stage raced at an average speed of 50.9km/h.
