Team of the Week - 13.03.26

Title hopes, record breakers and history makers feature in this week’s Team of the Week.

Scotland head into the final week of the Six Nations with a genuine chance of lifting the trophy after an unforgettable run of results, Bam Adebayo produced one of the greatest scoring nights in NBA history with an astonishing 83 points, Jake Adicoff became the first out gay man to win an individual Winter Paralympics gold, and Alex Mann set a new Six Nations record with 33 tackles for Wales against Ireland.

Scottish Rugby

Potential Six Nations champions

Who would have thought anyone would be writing this, but as we head into the final week of one of the most memorable Six Nations tournaments for decades, Scotland actually have a chance to win this thing! From being almost ruled out after a shock defeat to Italy, to overcoming Wales, England and France - in style - to being in the running for the title. Yes, the Scots are beaten by injuries, and face Ireland in Dublin, but there’s hope for the men in blue. Either way, what a tournament. Anyone that puts 50 past the French deserves to win.

Bam Adebayo

Miami Heat star

On a random Tuesday night, in a game that looks as entertaining as Burnley vs Brentford, Bam Adebayo dropped 83 (EIGHTY THREE) on the Wizards, surpassing Kobe's 81 point game and now sitting second only to Wilt Chamberlain's famous 100 point game. The accolade has been debated in-depth since with many trying to downplay it due to a record number of free throw attempts and the Heat clearly trying to feed Bam the ball in the later stages. But if it was so easy to score 83 points in an NBA game, why isn't everyone doing it? An insane achievement from the Heat captain.

Alex Mann

Record breaking Welsh flanker

As an England rugby fan, celebrating the Welsh doesn’t come naturally to me, however Alex Mann deserves it this week. Although they didn’t get the result they were after, Wales saw their performance improve massively against Ireland, highlighted by Mann, who made 33 tackles in the game, a new Six Nations record. Wales take on Italy this week with a point to prove, with Italy coming off the back of a historic win against England.

Jake Adicoff

First out gay man to win individual Winter Paralympics gold

With two golds already to his name, and the potential of two more in the pipeline, American cross-country skier Jake Adicoff has well and truly made history. He becomes the first out gay man to win individual Winter Paralympics gold, competing at his fourth Paralympic Games. Adicoff said: "The higher you get in sport, the less out people that you see. And I think going to the Paralympics, being a gay athlete there, showing that it's possible to reach this upper echelon of sport as an out athlete and as a Para-athlete, that's super important to me."
