Team of the Week - 17.10.25

This week celebrates people at the very top of their craft. Jody Cundy has added to his already impressive medal tally, Alyssa Healy has hit form at just the right time, and Beau Greaves is pushing to become one of the top names in darts.

If you want a good laugh, check out Bilal Fawaz and his reaction to winning the vacant English Super Welterweight title, it’s a great watch and an even better redemption story.

Jody Cundy

"King of the Kilo”

Jody Cundy continued his dominance, claiming his 22nd world track gold medal, storming to his sixteenth straight kilo world title in the men’s c4 event. The English rider, currently competing at the Para-Cycling World Championships in Rio de Janeiro, has six Paralympic golds in cycling and three in swimming.

Alyssa Healy

Australian Cricketer

The Southern Stars captain produced 142 runs off of 107 balls to lead her side to a record run chase against India at the ICC Women's Cricket World Cup. The Aussies completed the 331 chase to win by three wickets, eclipsing the previous record of 302.

Bilal Fawaz

English Super Welterweight Champion

Bilal Fawaz has lived a life that most people only ever hear about on the news. After enduring a traumatic upbringing that included being trafficked and abused, Fawaz found boxing as his outlet. At 37, he faced Junaid Bostan for the vacant English Super Welterweight title and won. The best part? His reaction. Bilal didn’t realise he’d won until the belt was handed to him, and you can see the pure joy take over his face. What a moment.

Beau Greaves

Darts World Youth Championship Finalist

Appropriately nicknamed ‘Beau ’n’ Arrow’, Greaves shocked the darts world when she averaged 105 against World Champion Luke Littler, beating him to progress to the World Youth Championship finals. Beau has been on the rise for several years now, as shown by her 58-match winning streak, including nine successive event wins in the PDC Women’s Series. She’s definitely one to keep an eye on.

Inactivity is quietly draining our economy, health system and communities. Sport England’s latest research is a wake-up call: equal access to sport and exercise could unlock £20 billion in savings and productivity gains for the UK. That’s not just a health issue, it’s an economic imperative. The data is compelling: For every £1 invested in grassroots sport, £4.38 is returned in savings and benefits. Grassroots sport contributes £36 billion annually to the economy and generates £14 billion in tax revenue. Yet inequalities persist. Those with disabilities, lower incomes, and black communities remain the least active. At New Reach, we believe the solution is clear: movement. Sport isn’t just about participation; it’s about inclusion, opportunity, and impact. Every mile run, every game played, every community initiative matters, not just for health, but for economic resilience and social cohesion. As the government prepares its Budget, the questions are: How do we make sport accessible for everyone? How do we turn participation into a national priority? Because the cost of doing nothing is too high. At New Reach, we help brands, rights holders, and organisations turn this challenge into opportunity. Through strategic PR, creative campaigns, and partnerships, we amplify the benefits of sport - driving participation, tackling inequalities, and delivering measurable impact for communities and the economy.
